Heavenly Wit and Wisdom

Greetings and welcome to this blog. I'm creating this so that I might showcase and share my photographic collection of church signs with cool messages. For the past couple of years I have found several church locations in the area of Tucson Arizona that had witty or interesting messages on their street side marquee. I'll post a few at a time until the collection is done. Enjoy.

I think the point of this message is to show that often people rely on "Luck" to the point of becoming dependent on arbitrary things like rabbits feet to create a sense of protection from the hard things in life. But what is it really? It’s a poor furry animal’s disembodied foot.

People may perceive God as a giver of luck and do ritualistic things or depend on material things to bring them favor from God. But does God really give blessings based on whether you’re chanting the right verse, dancing through the right ritual or carrying the right good luck charm? No. Gods blessings and how you receive it is in how you personally relate to God.

Another words, if the rabbits foot didn’t bring the rabbit any luck why should it bring you any more of Gods blessings than it gave the rabbit?
